Lincolnshire Marketing Charity Bowling Competition is back!
Local Businesses Bowl Together to Raise £500 for Stroke Association
Lincoln, 4th July 2025 – Local businesses across Lincolnshire are coming together this evening for the second annual Lincolnshire Marketing Charity Bowling Competition, and have collectively already raised over £500 for the Stroke Association.
Held at Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln, the fun-filled evening will see nine teams go head-to-head in a light-hearted but competitive battle of the lanes – all in the name of charity and community spirit.
This year’s chosen charity was Stroke Association, nominated by Chris Owen of Optimum Safety – one of the event’s key partners. Chris recently completed a charity bike ride, raising an impressive £2,900 for the same cause, making this event a brilliant continuation of his fundraising efforts.
The event was proudly supported by a number of local partners, including APT Legal (and Carrie Boughtwood - our Fines Master), Allen Signs, One Degree Ltd, Cobalt Human Solutions, Optimum Safety, Julia McGinn, Guardian Angel Carers and Lincolnshire Marketing. Each had the opportunity to put forward a charity for the event’s fundraising efforts, with the final cause selected from the nominations at random.
Carrie B from APT Legal, returning in her mischievous role as the Fines Master will be helping to add to the charity total. Throughout the night, Carrie will be dishing out playful penalties for bowling blunders – from gutter balls to showboating – all contributing to the fundraising total.
In tradition and the spirit of competition, trophies will be awarded – kindly produced by Allen Signs. The overall champions will crowned after two rounds of ten-pin bowling, with the highest combined score winning, while the team finishing bottom of the pile will presented with the now-infamous Bowling Bums trophy.
The event won’t be drama. Last year - 2024, the winning team captained by Carrie took the crown after event organiser Tom Stansfield’s team was disqualified for sneakily bringing in Glen, an international-level bowler. A ringer if ever there was one! All part of the fun, of course.
Tom Stansfield, founder of Lincolnshire Marketing, said:
"This event has become a real highlight for those involved. We’ve nearly doubled the numbers this year (up to 36 bowlers) It’s great to see so many businesses getting involved, having fun, and raising money for an important cause. A huge thank you to our event partners and everyone who bowled, sponsored, and donated – it really does make a difference."
